Nottingham Pauline Qu Pauline and her husband/drummer Asif (not sure which role is prominent at the moment) have been regular features at haflas north of Lincoln since 2007 and deserve honorary Yellow Belly status.
Pauline specialises in Tribal dance and is the founder of her own genre, British Tribal Style. Pauline offers a variety of workshops in Lincolnshire or elsewhere (click here for details) and has her own website at http://www.britishtribalstyle.com/ through which you can contact her. Pauline is one of those multi-talented people and as well as being a brilliant Tribal dancer, also does Tribal sword dancing, makes her own costumes AND does henna tattoos.
Tati Hafsa Despite contrasts in style, Tati Hafsa goes with Pauline Qu like butter goes with bread!
Tati is Nottingham based and also is a regular feature at haflas north of Lincoln. Tati is a brilliant Egyptian style teacher and workshop leader. My wife recently attended a "Pops and Locks" workshop with Tati in Nottingham where she taught how to dance to a live drum solo. It was well worth the one and a half hour drive each way but Tati will also travel to teach workshops. You can contact her through her website at: http://tatihafsa.com/
East Riding/Hull Louise Cramond (Louise taught Eren Sinclair whe she was in Grimsby and is thus the "grandmother" teacher of many of our own teachers listed above)
I have been performing and teaching Bellydance for nearly 12 years (having started teaching and performing in Grimsby!) and have studied with the top dancers around the world including Turkey and Cairo. My classes are warm and friendly to both the experienced and new dancer. I have performed all over the UK and won a bellydancing competition in Turkey. My style is a combination of Classic Egyptian Cabaret, Oriental and Turkish, topped off with a sprinkle of Middle Eastern Traditional Folk. Classes consist of:
Warm up, technique, choreography and a cool down.
I use both live and recorded music for performance and class work to give the audience and student a true taste of the magical combination of music and the high art form of Raks Sharqi, or as you know it Bellydance. In addition I work with local communities to provide opportunities to perform and celebrate what you as a student achieve
I do provide private tuition in addition to the classes and will shortly be starting a new troupe.
