Fay's Spring Hafla Review
by Trish

Well, I was late, partly because I forgot to cancel my class, and partly because I got lost. My fault, not Mark's, I don't use sat-nav. Maybe I should start? Once there though the fun had already started. A good sized hall and dance floor, a room for the shop, a bar, and a marquee with the food and changing facilities in. Well organised Fay. All her ladies and their families had turned out so it was nicely packed. I missed loads, Jacky's burlesque piece, Wynne's solo, all sorts. I arrived in time for my spot, which was probably just as well! I'm soo pleased I didn't miss Pauline Qu doing her sword work. That was truly stunning. Anju danced for us after a years absence (you've been missed hun) and it was lovely. Fay and her ladies have been working hard, the flamenco piece was fun, and Helwa Beledi is gorgeous. Isle dance, and the Shimmychicks (that was unexpected!) turned out too. Haflas are always fun, we get to see our old friends, meet some new ones, see lovely dancing and strut our own stuff as well. It was particularly good to see so many men actually get up to support Unal in his handkerchief dance, he loves to dance, and to see them all stay to the end was a first! Us girlies can't manage that!

Well done everyone who danced, drummed, turned out in support, did the music and MC-ing, and all the stuff that goes on in the background to make a hafla a good one.
