Another good turn out, another great evening's entertainment, another late night home.
We had a nicely varied programme, including dances from Jacky's student groups, and two (count them) sets of duets from Jacky's Doncaster ladies! Well done!
I did a solo (in front of my teacher!) and Dans Satam got to show the Shimmychicks Its Rocking at last. They were very complimentary, so thank you Sara for producing a rockin' choreo for us!
The Shimmychicks gave us Celt Arabia, which is looking even better than when I saw it at Sudbrooke if that's possible, although they claim to be having veil issues. Didn't show! They also danced Kajaraa Re, which is a hoot from start to finish. Beautiful dancing, and a comedy routine! Well done, another polished performance from our favourite Fusion gals! (And Nigel!)
Isle Dance showed us how to dance to the Spice Girls. Yes, you read that right.
Fay's students danced for us twice, and Fay mesmerised us with her veil. I wish I could do that! Arabian Delights from Louth danced too, well done again, and nice to see you all the way from Louth! Jacky wrapped up the evening with her magnificent Isis wings.
My students came to their first hafla, (thank you ladies!) they all got up and had a boogie, bought things from Mandy, they joined in everything and generally had a good time. I think they've been well and truly bitten by the Belly bug! I'll get them to perform at the next one!
So Alf Mabrook (1000 congrats) to everyone who danced, and Shukran (thank you) to everyone who turned out. Hafla's wouldn't be what they are without you! We had another fantastic evening, my hair behaved all night for a change, and I got home at midnight again.
